Position Summary:

As an integral member of our team, the IT Infrastructure Lead will be play a critical role in leading the delivery of IT infrastructure at our Salt Lake City, UT locations. This is an onsite and hands-on role. Success in this position requires the candidate to work closely with cross-functional teams as well as internal / external resources to build a resilient, scalable, and dependable IT network. The ideal candidate will have small-teams experience serving growth-minded organizations in the biotechnology or energy industries. This role will report to the Director of Information Technology.

What You'll Do:

This is a hands-on technical role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Plan, design, and manage the IT infrastructure of the company, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, cloud services, and security systems with direction from the Director of Information Technology.
• Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, reliability, and compliance of the IT network using industry standards and best practices.
• Lead and mentor a team of IT infrastructure engineers, technicians, and administrators, providing guidance, feedback, and training.
• Partner and coordinate with other teams, such as IT Operations, Software Engineering, and Operational Technology, to ensure continued alignment and integration of IT solutions.
• Manage IT infrastructure projects, such as upgrades, migrations, expansions, and installations, from inception to completion.
• Monitor and troubleshoot IT network issues and provide technical support and problem resolution.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and vendors, and recommend improvements and innovations for the IT infrastructure.
• Prepare and maintain IT infrastructure documentation, policies, procedures, and reports.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
To help drive our goal of continuous improvement, the successful candidate in this role must understand and be able to optimize IT Infrastructure processes and procedures to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our end users.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• At least 8 years of technical experience in IT infrastructure design, implementation, and management, preferably in a growth-oriented environment
• 7+ years of experience in leading and managing IT infrastructure teams, projects, and budgets
• Expert knowledge of IT network architectures, protocols, standards, and technologies, such as TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, SSL, etc.
• Proficient in IT network hardware and software, such as servers, routers, switches, firewalls, cloud services, and security systems, from various vendors, such as Fortinet, Aruba, Microsoft Azure, etc.
• Must be able to work in small IT teams
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of management and business units
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Must be able to think and work independently to resolve business problems within the organization using established processes, procedures and standards
• Must be able to travel between physical UT site locations
• Understanding of regulated / validated environments (Sarbanes-Oxley, cGxP)
• Certifications in IT network or cloud technologies, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Azure, etc., are preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working in a facility that produces radiation.
• Work to be conducted in both an office environment and the production facility.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Frequent use of computer with repetitive use of keyboard, mouse and manual dexterity.
