The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and managing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to align production activities with customer forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints. This role leads the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and conducts root cause analysis when plans are not achieved. The Master Scheduler works cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, Production Planning, and Sales to enhance system capabilities, reporting, and processes that support business growth and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align demand, supply, and capacity planning across the organization for medium- and long-term horizons.
  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) by incorporating demand forecasts, material availability, and production capacity.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules in response to demand changes, supply disruptions, or production constraints to ensure continuity and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Service to resolve supply-demand imbalances.
  • Serve as the site data steward for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, maintaining accuracy in Part Masters, Bills of Materials, Routings, and Recipes.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures for data lifecycle management.
  • Act as the ERP Super User for the Supply Chain function, providing training and support on ERP functionalities.
  • Generate reports and provide analytical insights to support executive decision-making related to production planning and inventory strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business management, or related technical/business field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing Planning within a highly regulated industry.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and facilitating collaborative planning processes.
  • Strong understanding of ERP system implementation, management, and data governance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience leading and facilitating an S&OP process.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and MRP system development, deployment, and ongoing management.
  • Demonstrated experience in data management, data governance, or data quality assurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to identify and address complex scheduling and data-related issues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Leadership and mentorship skills to guide and train team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work to be conducted in an office environment, laboratories, engineering R&D, and/or production environment.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Frequent use of computer with repetitive use of keyboard, mouse, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time for site visits, customer / supplier visits, training, meetings and attending conferences.
