Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel, the Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle and ensuring effective management throughout. This cross functional role will work closely with procurement, project management, technical leads, legal, finance, and quality to ensure effective contract execution, compliance, and alignment with company policies and objectives.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

Contract Life Cycle Management: Manage Nusano’s global supplier contract portfolio from over 24 countries and 39 U.S. States from pre-award to post-award, supporting capital projects, particle accelerator sub-assembly manufacturing, and other departmental needs. Contract types include parts supply, custom fabrication, manufacturing, 3PL, SaaS, services, and T&Cs.

  • Planning & Negotiation: Attend meetings and conduct information gathering in order to understand contract objectives and scope. In coordination with stakeholders, negotiate terms and draft initial contract documents.
  • Review & Authorization: Route contracts for internal review per legal, finance, and procurement policies, ensure compliance with approved templates, thresholds, and authority matrices, incorporate feedback, and finalize documents for execution.
  • Execution & Operationalization: Manage signature process, transition contract to internal owners, and log contract details into the contract tracking system.
  • Performance & Obligation Management: Manage amendments, change orders, and scope modifications, partner with project managers to track implementation.
  • Renewal, Amendment & Closeout: Track expirations and initiate renewals or closeouts as needed, lead renegotiation or termination process, archive closed contracts, document key learnings.

Additional Functions:

  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA): Lead prevention and correction of both internal and external contract-related non-compliance.
    • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks to protect Nusano’s interests and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
    • Process Improvement: Develop and enhance contract management systems, tools, and templates, utilizing software systems, automation, policy revisions, and training programs.
    • Analytics and Reporting: Generate reports on contract data and establish spend taxonomy for analytics.
    • Administrative Tasks: Organize and maintain storage of legal documents and facilitate e-signatures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a contracts-related role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead meetings with multiple stakeholders and manage action items.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and contract life cycle management skills.
  • Comfortable working within a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to periodically travel to Valencia, CA office.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Software; familiarity with Epicor Kinetic is a plus.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Professional certifications in contracts, supply chain, or legal fields.
  • Experience with Contract Life Cycle Management Software.
  • Background in pharmaceuticals, engineering, procurement, and construction is advantageous.
  • A holistic understanding of business operations and the contract process.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work to be conducted in an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Frequent use of computer with repetitive use of keyboard, mouse and manual dexterity.
