The Senior IT Analyst will be responsible for providing advanced IT support to the team, including the installation, commissioning, administration, and maintenance of network equipment and PC/Mac systems. Additionally, the Senior IT Analyst will collaborate closely with a managed service provider to resolve day-to-day issues. Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer service-focused approach are essential for this role.

 

This position reports directly to the IT Service Manager.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Provide Tier 1/2/3 support for desktop, laptop, and data center hardware/software issues, both onsite and remotely.
  • Independently troubleshoot and research issues.
  • Work autonomously and think critically.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager and Managed Service Providers (MSP) to address issues and implement solutions for all employees.
  • Track computing and networking assets.
  • Assist with the procurement and provisioning of new hardware and user accounts for new hires.
  • Maintain cloud and on-premises data storage repositories to meet regulatory compliance requirements regarding access, retention, and backup.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Occasional work travel is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in a service desk environment, including using a ticketing system, documentation system, and remote management application.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a passion for helping others.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of network, hardware, and software support.
  • Experience working in small teams.
  • Ability to resolve business problems within the organization using established processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, including notetaking and time tracking.
  • Experience in an enterprise Windows environment: Active Directory, Office 365, Windows 10/11, Server 2019/2022.
  • In-depth knowledge of NTFS best practices, including share and security permissions, common Group Policies such as password expiration, drive mapping, and printer deployment, Office 365 complexities including conditional access, dynamic security groups, MFA, and user setup.
  • Understanding of networking functions, including routing, switches, firewalls, DNS, TCP/IP, VLAN, and SD-WAN.
  • Strong understanding of other operating systems, such as macOS, iOS, Linux, and Android.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in a startup or rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience working with a quality program and quality standards.
  • Experience in a GxP environment.
  • Experience with the following: Technical certification in CompTIA Network+, Security+, ITIL, Microsoft, or self-study, hands-on, or home-lab experience in these areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work to be conducted in an office environment, laboratories, engineering R&D, and/or production environment.
  • Must be comfortable working within radiation environments.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Frequent use of the computer with repetitive use of keyboard, mouse, and manual dexterity.
