Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager will manage the accounting team, currently consisting of two staff members, with anticipated growth. This role involves overseeing the financial wellness and integrity of the organization, ensuring the completeness and proper valuation of financial records, and performing reconciliations between the subledger and general ledger. The Accounting Manager will also assist senior management, other departmental managers, and various peers by advising on financial management and accounting-related questions. At times, it may be necessary to provide more substantive procedures and analytical support.

What You'll Do:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Utah. The ideal candidate will have an active CPA license or be actively seeking one and have 5-7 years of accounting experience in the industry and public. This role requires proficiency with Microsoft Office products and familiarity with ERP systems such as EPICOR, Oracle or SAP. Manufacturing experience is preferred but not necessary.

• Oversee the financial wellness and integrity of the organization and collaborate with the finance and management teams to support overall department goals and objectives.
• Supervise accounting departments and prepare reports for company management.
• Handle company transactions.
• Assist with both internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting procedures (U.S. GAAP).
• Help as necessary with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, capital assets, payroll, and general ledger.
• Generate routine monthly and ad hoc reports to analyze financial data.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures related to financial management.
• Perform tests of controls consistent with the company’s policies and procedures to ensure they are performing as designed.
• Understand financial transactions and their impact on financial statements.
• Mentor the accounting team.
• Participate in cross-training activities with employees and company management.
• Exhibit the ability to effectively work with the company’s accounting and non-accounting personnel, both in the corporate office and other locations.
  • Functional area interactions include General Ledger Accounting (including Accounts Payable), FP&A, Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Development, and Internal Audit.
  • External interactions include external auditors and various vendors as needed.

Additional Job Functions:

• Assist accounting personnel with month-end closing procedures as assigned or needed.
• Participate in quarterly check-ins and annual reviews with employees and other managers. Also become involved in the wage increase process.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet aggressive deadlines, and make sound business decisions.
• Maintain current education on Nusano and industry standards and practices.
• Understand and adhere to GMP policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Five or more years of supervisory and/or progressive accounting experience in industry, or less if you have a background in public accounting (e.g., Big 4 or another national firm).
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field is required. A master's degree in business or accounting is preferred.
• Active CPA license or actively seeking CPA license (highly preferred).
• Working knowledge of computer and associated programs, including ERP systems (Epicor, Oracle or SAP), Microsoft Office Products, and Business Intelligence.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial analysis, and budgeting processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently perform all essential job duties and responsibilities without direct supervision.
• An ability to perform all essential position duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working within radiation environments and/or GMP.
• Work to be conducted in an office environment.
• Frequent use of a computer with repetitive use of keyboard and mouse.
• 2-8 weeks of travel per year for site visits, visiting vendors, and attending conferences.
