Position Summary:

Nusano has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineering Technician at our Salt Lake City Utah facility. This Technician will work with the Engineering team to support the development of solid, liquid and gaseous targets and radiochemistry equipment and machinery. To execute this project, we are looking to add talented people to the team who are mission-driven, provide diverse perspectives, and who have demonstrated exceptional results through a range of different pursuits. This team member will be primarily responsible for close collaboration within the Product Development and Targetry teams to support engineering from prototype to production.

What You'll Do:

• Support engineers through all phases of development
• Make recommendations to design, materials, and processes relating to the targets
• Collaborate with chemists, nuclear physicists, and mechanical engineers to carry out tests, data collection, and pre-production processes
• Coordinate lab activities and equipment utilization
• Create and organize documentation for process travelers, technical reports, and material certifications
• Perform tests and measurements on prototypes
• Recommend and validate processes, fixtures, and tools
• Support reliability testing through hands on tests and documentation
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA and safety regulations
• Perform with a safety mindset at the forefront of all work

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 5+ years of related professional work experience
• Experience with the set up and use of electrical and metrological equipment in a safe way
• Demonstrated understanding of clean room practices, metrology, documentation, and data collection methods 
• Fully proficient with digital productivity tools (Google Suite products, Microsoft Office products)
• 3+ years of technical experience with the installation and commissioning of precision scientific, mechanical, or vacuum systems
• Ability to interact and communicate efficiently with researchers, engineers, designers, machinists, and engineering technicians to provide a high level of customer service 
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and rapid learning

Preferred Requirements:

• Vocational certification(s), associates, or undergraduate degree in a related field
• Job related certifications ex: SolidWorks, PM, Six Sigma, SPC, or Lean Manufacturing
• Experience in designing for and working within radiation environments and/or GMP
• Experience working with a quality program and quality standards

Physical Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working within radiation environments and/or GMP
• Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
• Work to be conducted in an office environment, laboratories, engineering R&D, and/or production environment
• Ability to stoop/bend, squat/crouch, kneel, climb, work at/above shoulder height with both hands, use both hands/arms for strong grasp and either hand to turn or twist
• Ability to work sitting and standing for extended periods, grasping/gripping, fine motor control with hands
• Frequent use of a computer with repetitive use of keyboard and mouse
• Ability to travel 10% of time for experiments, visiting vendors, training, and attending conferences
