Position Summary:

 

Nusano has an incredible opportunity to contribute to the advances of radioisotope production for cancer treatment and diagnosis. The Laboratory Logistic Assistant is responsible for managing the procurement, shipping and receiving operations and inventory management within a chemistry laboratory. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, supplies, and equipment required for laboratory operations.

 

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for will handle all aspects of shipping and receiving, including inventory management, order processing, packaging, and coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders to procure necessary items for laboratory experiments and research projects.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, including inventory management, order processing, and packaging.
  • Process and assist with all vendor approvals, purchase orders, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials for our R&D team. Address any discrepancies or issues with shipments promptly and communicate with vendors and internal teams as needed.
  • Track, receive and inspect incoming shipments of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment. Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking numbers and delivery confirmations.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to understand procurement requirements and ensure alignment with laboratory objectives.
  • Maintain and regularly update chemicals and laboratory item quantities in inventory software program.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to identify procurement needs and specifications for laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and compliance requirements related to the handling and storage, of hazardous materials.
  • Stay proactive and responsive, remaining on top of procurement activities to support the smooth functioning of the laboratory.
  • Represent your site in all location supply chain team meetings to update the status of receipts, location transfers, and any other details.
  • Perform full receipt inspections, coordinate technical inspections, and site acceptance testing in a GMP environment.
  • Perform other duties in support of scientific research as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in a scientific environment, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Background in a life-sciences field (chemistry, biology, engineering etc.)
  • Experience in shipping/receiving, procurement, or inventory management, preferably in a laboratory or scientific environment.
  • Track record of independently prioritizing and performing laboratory tasks with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy packages and materials (up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfortable working in laboratory environments with exposure to chemicals, hazardous materials, and radioactive materials.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and procedures for handling radioactive materials, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and radiation monitoring devices, if needed.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs.
  • Frequent use of a computer with repetitive use of keyboard and mouse.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work at temporary desks and relocate them as needed throughout the building.
