Position Summary:
Nusano is looking for an Accelerator Operations Shift Supervisor to guide and support the operations team and assist with daily accelerator operations. Nusano’s facility will have a first-generation, state-of-the-art, high-power accelerator to produce radioisotopes for medical applications. This role will work with Accelerator Operations leadership to develop the accelerator operations program including systemic training, certification, and on-the-job-training (OJT) requirements for the operators. They will lead the preventative maintenance program ensuring safe, reliable, and life-cycle accelerator operations, and be the first line of defense for troubleshooting system issues. This position will interface with scientists, engineers, technologists, and technicians, as well as work with high vacuum, electromagnet, RF, process cooling, electronics, controls, mechanical, and cryogenic systems. It requires a strong background performing similar work in laboratories or accelerator settings. They will provide end-to-end system support and participate in various experiments throughout the project, including final beam commissioning. This role will participate in the lifecycle management of the system by identifying/developing equipment, system, and process improvements. They will provide oversight for and evaluation of other operators and technologists.
