Position Summary:

 

The Facility Manager will ensure the property maintenance, operations, and safety of Nusano’s Salt Lake City conventional facilities and work environments. Local facilities include a 35K sq. ft. office space with chemistry lab, a 90K sq. ft. engineering development facility, and a 50K sq. ft. support facility adjacent to the main production plant.  This position will handle all conventional facility administration as well as manage facility improvements and upgrades to support Nusano’s development needs.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure the property maintenance, operations, and safety of the facility and work environment; respond to occupant concerns and requests in a timely manner. 

  • Proactively monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.

  • Serve as the facility safety liaison; ensure timely and effective communication to the appropriate staff regarding any issues or needs and escalate as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with team members in support of planning and executing space and installation management.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with vendors, contractors, and the property owner.

  • Oversee construction and renovation projects to improve efficiency and to ensure that facilities meet environmental, health, and security standards, and comply with government regulations.

  • Provide operational best practices and design recommendations for conventional facility equipment and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • Participate in architectural and engineering planning and design, including space and installation management.

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems including maintaining maintenance records and scheduling such services.

  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for operational facilities, workflows, training, emergency response planning, and safety protocols.

  • Plan, administer, and control budgets for contracts, equipment, and supplies.

  • Prepare and review operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Manage licensing and permit submissions as appropriate.

  • Recognize and respond to off-normal incidents and emergencies.

  • Manage shipping, receiving, distribution, storage, and equipment crating for the site.

  • Provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • 10+ years of progressive, related experience in conventional facility management, operations, and safety.

  • Working knowledge of architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Strong commitment to safety with a track record of success.

  • Experience effectively managing vendors.

  • Experience with conventional facility upgrade projects.

  • Experience with MS product suite.

  • Experience with project management best practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service.

  • Ability to effectively present information.

  • Ability to respond effectively and timely to sensitive issues.

  • Dedicated to creating and maintaining positive project team relationships.

  • Proactive and responsive; available after hours as needed.

  • Supervisory experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Vocational certification(s), associates, or undergraduate degree in a related area.

  • PMP certification or CAPM certification with relevant experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work to be conducted in an office environment, laboratories, and/or production environment.

  • Must be comfortable working within radiation environments and/or GMP.  

  • Frequent use of a computer with repetitive use of keyboard and mouse.

  • Ability to work sitting and standing for extended periods, grasping/gripping, fine motor control with hands.

  • Able to travel up to 10%.
