Position Summary:

 

As an integral member of the Control Systems team, the Software Engineer will play a critical role in the design and implementation of several key tools to enable effective control of the accelerator system used for radioisotope production. A successful candidate will work closely with cross functional teams such as IT and Operations to deliver key integrations for a first-of-its-kind production system. The ideal candidate would have a background in building applications across the engineering life cycle, from gathering requirements to testing and commissioning. A background in physics and an interest in UI and data visualization is preferred.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain applications for accelerators and isotope production systems. 
  • Perform front-end, back-end and data storage tasks as needed.
  • Interface with engineering managers and technical experts from concept to commissioning.
  • Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and support deployment.
  • Provide up-to-date, accurate information to colleagues and management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with software development using one or more high level programming languages (JavaScript/Python)
  • Experience with modern front-end web development technologies
  • Understanding of basic database structures and queries.
  • Familiarity with Source Control / Code branch Management and CI/CD unit testing.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with additional high level programming languages (C++/Java)
  • Experience with UX design and data visualization
  • Developed applications using APIs and RESTful services with any ERP database

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable working in a facility that produces radiation.
  • Work to be conducted in both an office environment and the production facility.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Frequent use of computer with repetitive use of keyboard, mouse and manual dexterity
  • <10% Travel
