Position Summary:

 

The Electronics Engineer is a mid-level role within CSEE that will handle the design and fabrication of custom circuits for Nusano's projects. An ideal candidate for this role would have a few years of proven experience delivering circuit boards with integrated circuits/embedded systems, and participating in the life cycle of a product.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical and software engineers to develop and deploy cutting edge devices for accelerators and isotope production systems.
  • Design and develop hardware tools to enhance the flexibility and capability of existing hardware architectures used to control, monitor, and protect accelerators and isotope production systems.
  • Contribute to system design, including the development of new assemblies, sensor and critical component selection, electrical circuit modeling, and electrical schematics drafting.
  • Drive device definition, development, execution and testing. Identify and validate performance risks and work with team to mitigate  them. Specify testing to verify compliance with requirements.
  • Interface with engineering managers and technical experts from concept to commissioning.
  • Engage with vendors and technology suppliers to evaluate and select technology applicable to project objectives.
  • Provide up-to-date, accurate information to colleagues and management.
  • Mentor and coach new engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience working with interdisciplinary teams to design, build, test, and document electronic circuit designs and assemblies.
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
  • Experience with electronic simulation tools, CAD software for PCB design, and assembly modeling.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's & Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience being a technical lead and working with project management to properly define and execute project critical tasks.
  • Experience in embedded systems architecture and design.
  • Firmware design (C, C++, or equivalent) experience.
  • HDL design (VHDL,Verilog, or equivalent) experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable working in a facility that produces radiation.
  • Work to be conducted in both an office environment and the production facility.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent use of computer with repetitive use of keyboard, mouse and manual dexterity
  • <10% Travel
