Position Summary:
Nusano seeks an Ion Source Engineer to support the development and commissioning of a high-power/high current linear accelerator. Nusano is building a normal-conducting linac to accelerate various ions which interact with targets to produce radionuclides for medical applications. The Ion Source Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the commissioning of various accelerator systems, particularly the ion source and beam diagnostics. The Ion Source Engineer will conduct experiments to characterize and optimize beam production for the system including data acquisition, analysis, and reports detailing the results. This position requires on-site work in Valencia, CA where the ion source is currently installed. This position will be expected to relocate (with full company support) to Salt Lake City, UT, where the full production facility will be.
